Custom Framing

Vistra Framing and Gallery is a locally-owned business that has provided quality framing services to the community of Eugene for the past sixteen years.  We specialize in custom framing as well as locating specialty prints for the home, office or business.  We also provide creative solutions to difficult or unusual framing projects.

Shadow boxes are a truly elegant approach to framing three-dimensional art or other objects.  We can custom build frames to any depth, using almost any type of hardwood and with your choice of finish.

At Vistra Framing and Gallery, we have the experience to help you design and display your most treasured art objects in a truly custom, hand-crafted frame.

Here are some examples of special projects we have designed and constructed in the past:

This Venetian Carnival cat mask has been hand-stitched to a rich purple suede fabric background, with the golden ribbons artistically displayed.  A shallow frame with matching decorative edging has been custom-crafted to support  the depth of the mask.

These antique Saudi Arabian scimitars have been artfully arranged on a decorative fabric board.  Despite their weight, they have been secured without any visible attachments.  This gives them the effect of floating within the frame.  The antique-style moulding, with matching decorative elements, has been built up to accommodate the depth of the objects.

This unique elephant carving has been attached to a neutral colored board and then outlined with a raised border.  There is no glass on this piece, which allows a more three-dimensional look.  The frame has a hand-painted geometrical border, to give it a more ethnic feel.

This custom-milled, hand-finished frame has been routered out to support two panes of glass.  A hanger has also been custom-milled to allow the jersey to hang freely between the glass.  This presentation allows you to see the front and back of the garment.

This Native American garment with head dress has been hand-stitched on a nubuck fabric, giving the piece a more primitive feel.  To document the date and description, an engraved plaque has been added.  A simple shadow box moulding with an inset fillet completes the elegant presentation.
